Nancy Tamburini Neal, Project Manager for
The Blessings Foundation, has been teaching meditation and stress management classes to teenagers since 1994.

With an eclectic background in Theology, Psychology, and Graphic Design, Nancy incorporates that 'Divine Spark' we all possess with the power of the subconscious mind, creative thinking and expression, and ways to safely manage stress, in this unique meditation program she conceived, created, and specifically developed for teens.

As a teacher at a vocational high school in West Central Ohio, she was asked about the source of her creativity by her graphic arts students.  She explained the concept of meditation as a tool to tap into creativity on a subconscious level.  Her students were interested in learning more about meditation. With permission from her supervisor, Nancy taught her first meditation class to teenagers.

Interest increased greatly following that first class and Nancy began presenting the class to students school-wide at the request of many other teachers.  Students named her program “mrs. neal’s not-so-conventional meditation class for teens.”

This unique class has grown into a full multi-lesson program as a result of students' questions, curiosity, and eagerness to learn, and Nancy's passion to give students healthy tools to use in their lives.

Joseph Mahan, partner, serves as Director of Project Development.

Mahan obtained his BS in Criminal Justice,  researching and presenting a thesis based on stress in the law enforcement field.  This led to development of the program for first responders.

Mahan, Commander of the State of Ohio's Basic Peace Officer Academy at Edison Community College, monitored Neal's program in various juvenile settings, then recommended that it also could be utilized by adults.  With 30 years of experience in law enforcement, he recognized the value of Nancy’s program as a tool for adults in high stress careers such as law enforcement, and invited her to present the program to his academy students.

Even though Nancy’s passion is to mentor youth, she agreed to bring the program to Mahan's Basic Peace Officer Academy; it has been presented to Academy students for several years now with very favorable results.

The Blessings Foundation also offers Mahan's program for business, "Critical or Violent Incidents in The Workplace - Recognize, React, Respond and Recover" which has been well-received by human resources personnel and others.
